Kukup

Finally got the inspiration to "write" about this trip. It is supposed to be a gathering for our coursemate and in the end 17 of us managed to make it to there.
Our car set off from JB and it slightly more than an hour drive there. We went to Tanjung Piai first before making our way to Kukup. To get in you need to pay RM5 each.

It is a long walk from the start to the end

It was very windy & it rained heavily shortly after this

the water is choppy and it's probably not a good time for small boats to be out there

A weather vane that shows the direction of the various capitals of the world

a sign pointing to the place that we are heading to

House on stilts everywhere

Some looking like it is going to fall apart with the slightest kick of your legs

Concrete stilts

where barnacles made it their home

If you happen to be playing ping-pong and your ball dropped into the muddy ground below, don't worry as the people here have invented a pole to pick it up.

Everything just goes down and back to the sea

Mudskipper - gross creatures

crabs

Bicycles are the main form of transport here and it is funny how they used pails instead of baskets

At kukup, these electrcity poles double as rubbish bin poles- perhaps to prevent clutzy people from kicking the bin to the muddy ground when they walk or ride their bikes by?

For some, these poles are used to hanging their laundry too

airing their clean laundry in the public

and at some homes shrimps are being laid out to dry on the porch

there are how the foundation are laid before the build a house there

Sold out

old school shop

cute little purple gate

notice from the landlady so we don't go kacau the contents in the fridge

Kukup is a pretty boring place so you entertain yourself by:

KTV- everyone's favorite activity

Mahjong!

Board games

practicing your handwriting

some people might need extra help doing so

kacauing people's boat when they are not around

waiting for the sunset that never happened

and of course, there is the food to look forward to:

yummy BBQ bak gua

yummy coconut desserts

colorful kuihs for breakfast

bubur cha cha kuih

and of course, plenty of cam-whoring around

Till then,
Adios!!

汶莱的日子 1

Flowers that reminds me of my late grandma

The playground by the beach where my dad always brings me to when I was young

The KB beach on a bright sunny day

a place where crabs call home

 where creativity runs free

only to be destroyed by humans

The riverside - somewhere  peaceful

which still looks so serene just before it rains
